Tuff Stuff - 1961-1985 (1G)

The Ford 1G alternator is small and compact in size and requires the use of an external voltage regulator. The 1G alternators have a 70-amp output and are available in chrome plated, polished aluminum, stealth black, powder coated colors and Factory Cast PLUS+ finishes. A 1G hybrid alternator is also available. It uses a case that is 1/4" longer than the stock 1GEN alternator which permits the use of larger internal components so that it outputs 100 or 140-amps. If you have the clearance, consider the Hybrid alternator.
